NCAD is a utility applied for the purposes of increasing the performance of the web server when the accelerator feature and the cache for Solaris network are enabled. NCAD also implements a server for Solaris doors, which acts as an interface between a web server and the module for NCA kernel. Once the user enables the feature of NCA, NCAD automatically starts at system boot through an initialization script. For NCA to be enabled, the status field of NCAD has to be modified by the user in the configuration file.
When web servers are inclusive of native ports of a server of Solaris doors, an NCAD utility may not be the best option for the user to use. This is because when the system is booting, the daemon requires to be disabled. The status field of NCAD should be modified from enable to disable in the configuration file. NCA is responsible for the connection of the virtual console terminals and the pseudo terminal and the normal access tom these two terminals requires access to a local keyboard.
